MASAM Committees

These groups are the backbone of our organization, driving our mission forward and shaping the future of addiction medicine. Below is an overview of the committees you can join, each offering unique opportunities to make a difference.

Legislative & Advocacy Committee





Works closely with government bodies to advocate for policies that benefit our profession and the patients we serve. Members of this committee are involved in grassroots advocacy efforts and help to coordinate MASAM’s legislative strategy. Coordination with advocacy groups.




Education Committee





Dedicated to the continuous professional development of our members. This committee is responsible for planning and organizing educational programs, including webinars, the annual conference, and other educational initiatives that keep our members at the forefront of medical advancements in pain and addiction medicine.



Early Career Committee





Supports the next generation of medical professionals. This committee focuses on the unique needs of students, residents, and fellows, providing mentorship opportunities, career guidance, and specialized educational resources.


We are currently looking to recruit current trainees for this committee, as well as established physicians with an interest in mentorship.



Advanced Practice Provider Committee





Grow associate membership and engagement and support educational initiatives. This committee focuses on the needs and contributions of advanced practice clinicians within the MASAM community. Members work together to address clinical challenges, promote best practices, and advocate for the recognition and advancement of advanced practice roles.
