MASAM SUD PEARLS FOR PRACTICE
"THE LEADING EDGE: ADDICTION TREATMENT IN 2023"

LEARNER OBJECTIVES



By participating in this continuing education program, the attendee should be able to:

  • Recognize the changing illicit drug supply and provide individualized treatment protocols for patients seeking methadone treatment (Friday).
  • Evaluate and interpret federal and state regulations to decrease barriers to care and improve overall retention in treatment (Friday)
  • Perform an evaluation of in-patient addiction treatment protocols to ensure that they are trauma-informed and patient-centered (Saturday).
  • Communicate to your partners at patient transition the current interpretation of the Americans with Disabilities Act and access to treatment for SUD at all levels of care (Saturday). ​

  • 4.25 BCIPE Instructional Hours on Friday, Sep 29.
  • 8.00 BCIPE Instructional Hours on Saturday, Sep 30.

Attendees should only claim the instructional hours commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.


All attendees will receive instructions at the meeting on how to claim their credits.



MATE Training Requirement



The MASAM Board of Directors, with concurrence from the Education Committee, has determined that eight (8) hours of attendance at the 2023 'SUD Pearls for Practice conference fulfills the DEA healthcare provider license holders Medication Access And Training Expansion (MATE) Act requirements as set forth in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023.
